Children's Learning Service provides tutorial and educational services for children who are experiencing learning problems and living in licensed foster homes. Children ages 5-18 receive tutoring individually as well as in small groups. An individual learning plan is developed in cooperation with the school and parent or guardian of the student, if appropriate. The staff includes credentialed teachers and learning disability specialists. The program offers academic assistance as well as activities designed to stimulate and motivate the child to learn and acquire new skills.

Advocacy services are provided to ensure each child is placed in an appropriate classroom setting. Staff work closely with the parent or guardian, school and other agencies to coordinate educational services.

The goals of Children's Learning Services are:

  • To develop self-confidence and self esteem by teaching basic skills
  • To make learning fun, challenging, and exciting
